Welcome To Clarington

The municipality of Clarington borders the eastern side of the Greater Toronto Area. It has a population of about 90,000 people and was created in 1974.  The name Clarington is a mashup of Clarke and Darlington.  It is one of the municipalities in Durham. It consist of  Courtice, Bowmanville, Newcastle, and Orono.  Residents enjoy the waterfront trails along the Lake Ontario.  This municipality also has beautiful Greenbelt protected farmlands. It host the Clarington Visual Arts Centre which is a great place for art enthusiasts.  Bowmanville Creek, Soper Creek, Wilmot Creek and Graham Creek offers trout and salmon. Boundaries

Clarington is located on the east side of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), just 40 kms from the eastern border of Toronto. It would take about 1 hour drive to the downtown city.  It is close to Canada’s largest international airport, major markets and recreation outlets.
